I just got back from a RAD two weeks of shooting in Southern California for a few different things. One of the companies I was shooting for was Ember (was called Acholi Beads). Ember Is one of the handful of companies that I completely respect for what they do and how they do it. This is a short clip from their website about what they do
“Our business exists to renew hope. We partner with women in Uganda, East Africa to create beautiful jewelry using recycled paper and plastic. Through this connection to the American market our Ugandan partners are able to rebuild their lives and families, and rekindle their hopes and dreams, after a devastating civil war. They embody the unquenchable ember of the human spirit.”
The shoot was two days with the first day being in the mountains of Malibu and the second day being in a San Pedro Marina. I worked with an AMAZING crew who made my job a breeze and a blast. The crew consisted of James Pearson (of Ember), Lauren Shute (model), Jennifer Welsch (model), Tony Sasso (DJ/assistant), Rachel Burney (hair and makeup), Matt Wood (boat owner, caterer, general do-gooder), and Michelle Tobias (innocent bystander). A huge thanks goes out to all of them!
Below are the photos from day one in the mountains. I will be posting the shots from the marina in a day or two so keep your eyes out!
