We all know that practice makes perfect better. The problem with this for photographers is that we can’t carry a camera with us everywhere we go like other artists can carry a sketch book. Well, we could but none of us want to end up with back problems. The beauty of a sketch book is that it is small, light, fits in your pocket, and allows an artist to practice their craft in a more relaxed manner when they don’t have the time to commit to a bigger project. Why can’t your Iphone (or other camera phone) be your sketch book? Start taking photos of things that inspire you. Download some fancy editing apps and get creative. My favorites are Snapseed, VSCO CAM and Blender. Do this on a daily basis and I promise you will be shocked at what you can create on a phone.
