Lake Pleasant

If you’ve been following me for the past year or so, you probably recognized that I had a stretch where I felt like I was in a creative rut and that I often represented that rut in my images through shooting in the desert (among other things). Well… hope you know what this set means!

Edited with my Heck Yeah Presets (Bright 3)!

tip:

Once the sun drops below the horizon, I LOVE the light I get when shooting from above. That soft light falls so beautifully... if you know where to place it. It's easy to assume that since the sun is gone, the light's going to look killer from every direction, but there's still a strong direction to it. If you get it wrong, you might have light coming up from the bottom of your subject (giving them the same light you give yourself when telling ghost stories to make yourself look creepy). The easy fix... point their head towards where the sun just set. That will leave you with soft, flattering light!
