Shei

Last month I had the absolute pleasure of shooting with Shei (from the current season of America’s Next Top Model) during one of my studio days. I know, I know… it’s weird that I shot in a studio. Anyone who follows my work knows that I am nature’s biggest fanboy and that almost every image I post is in some sort of natural environment. Consistency is something I will always preach, but progression is too. Last month, I set up a series of 5 shoots during a 12 hour studio day so I could shoot things that were way out of my normal. Sometimes weird works. Sometimes it doesn’t. The important thing is that it always teaches you something which means it always pushes you forward. Let’s get weird, folks.

tip:

To get the blurred look, I shot almost all of these around 1/10th of a second. For some images, I shot and then twisted or shook the camera a bit to put the entire image in a blur, while for others I left it on the monopod and told Shei to move certain parts of her body while keeping the others still.
