TAYLOR : Alabama Hills

The two words I’ve been chasing in my work lately are Emotional and Unique. I’ve been shooting for 10 years now and I’ve come to realize how important setting goals is to creative growth. My goals lately are to create things that make me feel something and that stands out against what I’ve created in the past. Hopefully these do both for you too.

Edited with my Heck Yeah Presets (Bright 3).

tip:

One of the things that made this shoot stand out for me is how I shot it. Instead of setting up a shot and shooting it while I stood still, I didn't stop moving. I kept shooting as I got up close, down low, above, and far away. By continuing to move I found that I was able to capture so much more variety and more interesting angles than I have in the past. Sharing that just in case you need to hear it too!

I’ve been especially loving your work with mirrors lately. in this one, i couldn’t stop looking at the image of her where it looks like she’s staring directly at her own reflection—it makes me wonder how you got the shot without getting yourself in it!

I love the idea of challenging yourself by setting goals to grow creatively.

PS: I seriously fell in love with this shoot.

I love this. I am a huge fan of the ones where she’s trashing on the ground and you can see her previous movements in the dirt…like hand prints and movement. Nice!!!
