Cory and Bethany : Sand Dunes

Cory and Bethany are bonkers awesome (yes, I still say bonkers). It’s always a blast and an honor to work with fellow creatives. I’ve been a huge fan of Cory and Bethany for a while now for their mobile work (it’s pushed me to launch my own mobile portfolio!) and creating with them with them was nothing short of bitchin’. We shot over two afternoons at Imperial Sand Dunes and Joshua Tree (coming soon) and spend the night in between listening to smooth jazz in the desert at a place called Woody’s. Life is weird as heck sometimes.

These are awesome! how did you handle the contrast so well? Did you have to bring back the skies in post? or did you just expose for the skin/sky and not mind some black clipping in their clothes?

    • haha Ben (notsasso). That’s awesome. Thanks! We were lucky enough to shoot on a day where the sun was coming through the clouds so when I shot them, I had them front lit which left soft light on them and enough exposure to leave the blue in the skies. For a few of them I brought the exposure down and contrast up a tiny bit in the skies. As for exposing, I always expose for the skin because that is where I want my detail/color to look its best!
