Lauren and Mark : Redwoods

Boom. There are a few photographers out there who I think just freaking kill it and Lauren and Mark are two of them. If you need some inspiration or a wedding photographer to kick your wedding right in the butt cheeks, check out their work here. After following their work for a while, it was so rad finally getting to know the two of them and shooting in Northern California in Humboldt Redwoods State Park and along the Eel River. Enjoy!

tip:

I know some of you really dig that gritty film look. If you shoot digital too, try shooting a few stops under exposed and then bringing it back up in post. If you shoot underexposed, when you bring it back up in post, it will add a gorgeous texture into your image. Try experimenting with how much you underexpose because it will change how the grit looks when you bring it back up. Also, if you use a higher ISO (2,000+), the grit will start looking more and more rough and possibly more digital if you bring it up too far. In some of the images in this set you can see the subtle texture that this technique gives. Plenty more tips and tricks in my free lighting class sponsored by Rangefinder Magazine!
