SKY : MEREDITH ADELAIDE

Hi friends! Lately it seems like I’ve been inspired by weirder and weirder things. I’m assuming it’s a byproduct of seeing countless images every day and realizing that it’s only the strange ones that stand out. The ones that flip the script. I look at more images each day than most humans do in a week it’s filled me from head to toe with an boiling urge to see something unique. Seems like the only way to create something unique these days is to break the “rules” that everyone else follows. Good images are common place, great images take thought. I’m not claiming to create the great ones, but your damn right that I’m going to try.

Not supposed to shoot portraits from below? Well F that, here’s an entire set shot with me laying in the dirt.

tip:

The beach is nature's reflector. I shot these at noon out on the beach with Meredith leaning over me as I layed in the sand. That put the sun behind her, and the sand reflecting light back into her face. Boom, soft light at noon!

Totes agree with the good/great images! Step out of the box, trip, smack your chin, and then realise you look pretty rad with the scar.

    Great work!!!

Great job on these low angle portraits. There are so many angles to shoot from and so many ways to light a scene other than softboxes but most photogs adhere to industry norms when creating imagery. I recently shot laying on the ground and it reminded me to get dirty every now and then.

I cannot handle the awesomesauce of this set. So cool. What gear were you rocking? And what settings? Thank you for your endless inspo!

    • Sara, Shot these with a 5D IV (or III, can’t remember) and a 35L. Deep DOF, low ISO, and shutter speed at whatever I needed to to underexpose slightly.
