I’ve had a ton of things in the blogging schedule over the past few months so it’s taken me a while to get this one up here! This shoot was born out of a need to simplify. In the past I’ve talked a lot about creative ruts and the importance in stepping outside of your normal. If you know much about my work you know that it revolves around a few major themes (all of which I love) like nature, golden natural light, particular styling, and intimacy. These images fall pretty far out of those but it’s exactly the creative kick I needed in a time of sluggish movement. This shoot allowed me to strip down the complications like styling, environment, color, and a few others in order to focus solely on the heart of the image, the subject. The human connection is always what I hope to have shining through the actual design of the image so in the midst of a creative rut I decided to leave the design out to renew my inspiration for what really matters.
