Katie and Joe : Hug Point, Oregon

In lieu of a longer paragraph here, I’ll just say that I’m pretty excited about what we all created on this shoot and that Katie and Joe are two absolutely top-knotch humans.

Also, we filmed this shoot and their in-home session for my Posing + Directing Class!

tip:

VARIETY! It can be so easy to get stuck shooting from a certain distance during a shoot (I do it all the time), but variety in a blog post is so important for keeping the viewer interested. Shoot close, shoot far, shoot fast, slow, etc. Mix things up so your viewer has a reason to keep scrolling instead of a reason to stop!

    BEN, HECK YES!!
quick question: your shoots always have the look of a styled shoot, even though I know a lot of them are just your clients. how do you direct your clients to coordinate so well together & be fashion CONSCIOUS? thanks so much!

    • Hey Blake! I always offer wardrobe help to clients. Sometimes they just take care of it on their own, sometimes they have h=me help pick things out with them. Either way, I always ask them to bring two options including something we can take on/off like a jacket, etc. I know some photographers actually send out PDF style guides that give their clients ideas on what to wear, what will look great together, etc.

OMG THESE ARE BEAUTIFUL! The brown muted tones… and such a simplistic yet stunning location.

H! I was wondering what template you use to post your amazing photos onto your bloggity blog? Thanks!

    • Hi Kara!
Not quite sure what you mean by template. I use Blogstomp to put images together. I assume that’s what you mean?

Hey Ben! Loved watching the video. Was wondering what were the two lenses you used during the in-home portion as well as the beach portion?

    Thanks!
